Warning: Your steam package is out of date. Restoring just Half-Life (without ticking Half-Life 2:Deathmatch) restored that game correctly, but Half-Life 2:Deathmatch won't restore on its own.Ĭonsole output during restore: (after canceling after about 30MB download, then did clean exit of Steam.) I did notice the popup window that talk about steam being out of date, but when I do a manual check for "Steam updates", it tells me that I am already up-to-date. ![]() The speed was definitely too slow to be hard drive progress - KBs a second. In the background during the above step, I saw Steam downloading the full 1.7Gb of Half-Life 2:Deathmatch that I wanted restored from the backup. It had an empty progress bar saying "Preparing Half-Life 2: Deathmatch files for install.". When I tried to do the restore on my home PC (Ubuntu 12.10), it correctly asked me if I want to restore both games, I selected both. I create a backup of Half-Life and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch on my work Ubuntu 12.04 box, selecting an NTFS external harddrive. ![]()
